Hercules is an open source software implementation of IBM mainframe System/370, ESA/390 and z/Architecture environments. It runs under Linux, Windows, Mac OS X and other midrange and desktop control programs.
For more information about Hercules itself, see the appropriate Hercules Web site. Due to some unfortunate and hopefully temporary administrative challenges, exactly what constitutes "appropriate" depends on the version of Hercules:
